Ingredients
Scale
- 4 fresh white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or haddock)
- 2 lemons, sliced and juiced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
- Cherry tomatoes (optional, for added color and flavor)
- Black olives (optional, for authentic Mediterranean taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil. Pat the fish fillets dry with paper towels to ensure even cooking.
- In a small bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the fish fillets. Lay lemon slices on top of the fillets and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.
- Place the prepared fish into the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. For extra crispiness, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Once baked, garnish with fresh parsley and serve with your favorite sides. Optional: add cherry tomatoes and black olives around the fish before baking for added flavor and color.
Notes
- Use fresh herbs for maximum flavor.
- Choose firm white fish fillets for the best texture.
- Serve with crispy smashed potatoes or roasted vegetables for a balanced meal.
- Adjust seasoning according to your preference for spiciness or acidity.
