Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large pasta shells
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add the pasta shells and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the ground beef, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook until browned and cooked through, about 8 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Reduce heat to low, pour in heavy cream, and stir to combine. Add grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
- Add the cooked pasta shells to the skillet with the beef and cream sauce. Toss gently to coat all shells evenly. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to meld flavors.
Notes
- To store leftovers, transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
- Reheat by adding a splash of milk or cream over low heat while stirring frequently.
- For added flavor, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese or hot red pepper flakes before serving.
- Try incorporating sautéed mushrooms or spinach for added nutrition.
