Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper. Mash the ripe bananas thoroughly until smooth. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined. Add mashed bananas and mix gently.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle chopped nuts or chocolate chips on top, if desired.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve plain or with butter.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for maximum flavor and moisture.
- Avoid overmixing to keep the bread super moist and fluffy.
- Adding a splash of buttermilk or yogurt can enhance tenderness.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze slices for longer storage.
