- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled
- 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves, loosely packed
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or more, to taste)
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6β8 lemons)
- 6 cups water, plus more for adjusting sweetness
- Ice, for serving

Instructions
- Wash the strawberries and basil thoroughly. Hull and roughly chop the strawberries. Combine in a blender.
- Add about 1 cup of water and blend until smooth to create a puree.
- Strain the puree through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove seeds and pulp.
- Add sugar, lemon juice, and remaining 5 cups of water to the pitcher. Stir until the sugar is dissolved, and adjust sweetness or tartness to preference.
