Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- Pink or red food coloring (optional for gore effect)
- Black edible marker or chocolate syrup for detailing
- Aluminum foil or plastic gloves for shaping
- Additional toppings like fake blood syrup or red sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Gather all your ingredients and tools.
- In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Add a few drops of pink or red food coloring and mix well.
- Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture. Gently fold until evenly coated. Allow the mixture to cool slightly for easier shaping.
- While still warm, wear plastic gloves or use parchment to prevent sticking. Mold small portions into rounded, brain-like shapes, adding folds and creases. Place on a prepared baking sheet and let set for at least 30 minutes.
- Once firm, use an edible marker or chocolate syrup to add fissures or veins for a creepy appearance. Optionally, add fake blood syrup around edges for a gory effect.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Refrigerate for longer storage.
- Avoid stacking to maintain shape and freshness.
- Use food coloring and decorating tools for more detail and realism.
