  • Total Time: 25 minutes + setting time
  • Yield: 10-12 brain-shaped treats

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Pink or red food coloring (optional for gore effect)
  • Black edible marker or chocolate syrup for detailing
  • Aluminum foil or plastic gloves for shaping
  • Additional toppings like fake blood syrup or red sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. Gather all your ingredients and tools.
  2. In a large pot, melt the butter over low heat. Add mini marshmallows and stir until fully melted. Add a few drops of pink or red food coloring and mix well.
  3. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into the melted marshmallow mixture. Gently fold until evenly coated. Allow the mixture to cool slightly for easier shaping.
  4. While still warm, wear plastic gloves or use parchment to prevent sticking. Mold small portions into rounded, brain-like shapes, adding folds and creases. Place on a prepared baking sheet and let set for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Once firm, use an edible marker or chocolate syrup to add fissures or veins for a creepy appearance. Optionally, add fake blood syrup around edges for a gory effect.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days. Refrigerate for longer storage.
  • Avoid stacking to maintain shape and freshness.
  • Use food coloring and decorating tools for more detail and realism.
