Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- Add remaining sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon in small bowls, tint each with food coloring to create spooky fillings.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle about 16×12 inches. Spread colored cinnamon fillings evenly over the dough.
- Carefully roll the dough tightly from the longer side. Slice into 12 equal pieces. Place them in a greased baking dish, leaving space for expansion.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20–25 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let cool slightly.
- Spread cream cheese frosting over warm rolls and decorate with candies, sprinkles, or colored frosting for a spooky look.
