Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of whole milk (or any plant-based milk substitute)
- 1/2 cup of high-quality cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup of sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Whipped cream or coconut whipped topping
- Mini marshmallows or melty white chocolate chips
- Black edible food coloring or black gel pen (optional for ghost details)
- Gummy eyes or candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, combine the cocoa powder and sugar. Gradually add a splash of milk and stir until smooth and paste-like to prevent lumps.
- Pour the remaining milk into the saucepan, add vanilla extract, and heat over medium-low heat. Stir continuously until hot but not boiling.
- Carefully pour the hot chocolate into Halloween-themed glasses or mugs. Top generously with whipped cream to resemble a ghostly head. Use marshmallows or white chocolate chips to create ghost faces.
- Use black edible food coloring or a gel pen to draw eyes and mouths on the marshmallows or candies. Alternatively, place gummy eyes for an extra spooky look.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Reheat gently or stir before serving.
- Decorate with themed supplies like spider web stickers or colored straws for added festivity.
- Adjust sweetness and toppings based on taste and dietary preferences.
