Festive jack-o’-lantern cookies filled with creamy milk chocolate, decorated with colorful icing for a Halloween treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips or chunks
  • Orange, green, and black icing for decorating

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla, mix well.
  2. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until combined. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll out dough and cut out pumpkin shapes.
  4. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden. Let cool.
  5. Fill cooled cookies with milk chocolate, then decorate with icing to create faces and pumpkin features.
