Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (180g) chocolate chips
- Optional: chopped nuts or shredded coconut for extra texture
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray. Mash the bananas until smooth. Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, then mix thoroughly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and optional nuts or shredded coconut evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for best sweetness and flavor.
- Do not overmix the batter to ensure a soft, tender bread.
- Optional add-ins include chopped nuts or shredded coconut for added texture.
- Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven; start checking at 60 minutes.
