Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound (450g) of ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce (for baking or serving)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Using your hands or a small cookie scoop, shape the mixture into evenly sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a lightly greased baking dish.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 18-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through. Optional: brush with marinara sauce during the last 5 minutes for extra flavor.
Notes
- Do not overmix the ingredients to keep the meatballs tender.
- For added moisture, use a blend of beef and pork or lean meat options.
- Baking on a wire rack promotes even cooking and prevents sogginess.
