Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups shredded birria meat
- 1 bag (12 oz) tortilla chips
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup birria consomé (broth)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the savory birria by cooking your preferred cuts of meat slowly with spices until tender. Shred the meat and reserve the juices for the consomé.
- Spread a layer of crispy tortilla chips on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Shred your tender birria meat, making it juicy and flavorful.
- Assemble the nachos by layering shredded birria meat over the tortilla chips, followed by cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, and cilantro. Bake for about 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Best enjoyed fresh.
- For optimal crunch, store components separately, especially tortilla chips.
- Serve with reserved birria consomé for dipping and customize a nacho bar with additional toppings.
