Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or milk
- Fresh herbs (parsley or chives) for garnish
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Shape the mixture into small, uniform meatballs. Brown them in a skillet over medium heat with a little oil until cooked through, about 8-10 minutes, or bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes on a lined baking sheet.
- Place peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, and boil until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain potatoes and return to the pot. Add butter and heavy cream (or milk), then mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. Add chopped herbs for extra flavor if desired.
- Serve Salisbury meatballs over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. Spoon gravy or sauce if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for beef for a leaner version.
- Mashed potatoes can be enriched with sour cream or Greek yogurt for extra creaminess.
- If baking, ensure meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F for safety.
