Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs grass-fed ground beef
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 10-12 slices of bacon
- Optional toppings: ketchup, tomato sauce, or barbecue sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, chopped onion, eggs, garlic, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to incorporate all ingredients.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf shape on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or into a loaf pan, ensuring even thickness.
- Arrange bacon slices over the top and sides of the meatloaf, overlapping slightly for full coverage.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). For extra crispiness, broil for 2-3 minutes at the end.
- Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides and garnish with ketchup or sauce if desired.
Notes
- Make ahead: Prepare the mixture a day in advance and refrigerate; bake when ready to serve.
- For a leaner version, substitute turkey or chicken bacon.
- Ensure the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F for safety.
