- 6 cups of rice krispie cereal
- 4 cups of mini marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- Optional: 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Optional: Chocolate chips, sprinkles, or other mix-ins
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt 3 tablespoons of butter. Add mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth. Optionally, stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the rice krispie cereal in a large bowl. Gently fold until evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into the prepared dish. Press down evenly with a buttered spatula or paper towels.
- Allow to cool at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness and chewiness.
- You can customize with chocolate chips, nuts, or sprinkles before pressing into the pan.
- Do not refrigerate, as it can make the treats stale.
