- 2 Β½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ΒΌ tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water (110Β°F)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- Optional: Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by combining warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Mix flour and salt in a mixing bowl, create a well, and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Punch down the risen dough, roll it out into a circular shape according to your thickness preference.
- Preheat your oven to 475Β°F (245Β°C). Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Spread pizza sauce over the dough, followed by mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices. Add optional toppings.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, let cool for a few minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
- Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, wrap slices in plastic wrap and freeze for up to two months.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave until warm.
