- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 cups chicken broth (or vegetable broth for vegan option)
- Optional toppings: avocado, cilantro, green onions
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground turkey over medium-high heat, breaking it apart until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and bell peppers, sautΓ©ing until softened (about 5-7 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, then add tomato paste, stirring to coat.
- Pour in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chicken broth. Stir, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings.
