Instructions
- Start by harvesting fresh oregano leaves. Wash them thoroughly and pat dry.
- In a sterilized jar, combine the oregano leaves with the olive oil, ensuring all leaves are submerged.
- Place the jar in a saucepan of water, bring to a gentle simmer, and heat for about 2 hours.
- Once cooled, strain the oil through a cheesecloth into a clean jar.
Notes
- Store the oregano oil in a dark glass bottle away from sunlight.
- Label the bottle with the date of infusion for tracking freshness.
- While fresh oregano is preferred, dried oregano can be used if needed.
