Ingredients
Scale
- 12 oz (340 g) honey BBQ sausage
- 8 oz (225 g) penne or your favorite pasta
- 1 cup (240 ml) chicken broth
- 1 cup (120 g) shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) BBQ sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare all ingredients: dice the onion, mince garlic, and cut the honey BBQ sausage into bite-sized pieces.
- Heat olive oil in a large one-pot over medium heat. Add sausage pieces and cook until browned. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic and sauté until fragrant and translucent.
- Pour in chicken broth and BBQ sauce. Stir to combine. Add uncooked pasta, ensuring it is submerged. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente and sauce thickens. Add more broth if needed.
- Turn off heat, stir in cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- Use high-quality honey BBQ sausage for the best flavor.
- Adjust BBQ sauce amount for desired spice and sweetness.
- Stir in sautéed peppers or spinach for added vegetables.
- Add a splash of heavy cream or Greek yogurt for extra creaminess.
