Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (preferably 85% lean)
- 1/2 cup (50g) breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup (60ml) milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup (10g) chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Optional: grated Parmesan cheese, chopped onions, or red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into evenly-sized balls, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place each meatball on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cook the meatballs by baking in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Alternatively, brown the meatballs in a skillet over medium heat, turning occasionally, or cook in a slow cooker with sauce on low for 6 hours for a set-and-forget approach.
- Serve the cooked meatballs over pasta, in a sub sandwich, or with your favorite dipping sauces. Garnish with cheese or herbs as desired.
Notes
- For a healthier version, substitute ground turkey or chicken.
- Add grated zucchini or a splash of broth to keep poultry moist.
- To store, refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in oven, skillet, or microwave for quick meals.
