- 1 lb (450g) spaghetti pasta
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 cups (200g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup (100g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream or half-and-half
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook spaghetti until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, sautรฉ onion and garlic until fragrant. Add ground beef or Italian sausage, cooking until browned. Stir in marinara sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Combine heavy cream with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Mix until smooth.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti, spread meat sauce over it, and pour on the cheese mixture. Repeat layering with remaining spaghetti and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Preheat oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes for a crispy cheese topping.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and a side of garlic bread.
- Customize with sautรฉed vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms.
