Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pre-made pizza dough or homemade pizza crust
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for added spice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness. Transfer to a baking sheet or pizza stone.
- In a small bowl, combine ricotta cheese, lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth. Spread this lemon-white sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously over the lemon-white sauce. Add optional toppings like arugula, cherry tomatoes, or red onions if desired.
- Bake the pizza in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- Remove from oven and garnish with fresh basil leaves. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes or extra lemon zest if desired. Slice and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a pizza stone for a crispier crust.
- For a more flavorful experience, add toppings like cherry tomatoes or prosciutto.
- Reheat in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes to maintain crispiness.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
