- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan, chopped basil, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef or Italian sausage until browned, drain, and stir in marinara sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Lay cooked lasagna noodles flat, spread cheese mixture, add meat sauce, and roll noodles carefully.
- Place rolled noodles seam-side down in the baking dish. Cover with remaining marinara and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the microwave or oven for best results.
- Allow lasagna to rest for 10 minutes after baking to set the layers.
- Customize with sautéed vegetables or different cheeses.
