Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, Parmesan, chopped basil, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef or Italian sausage until browned, drain, and stir in marinara sauce. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Lay cooked lasagna noodles flat, spread cheese mixture, add meat sauce, and roll noodles carefully.
  5. Place rolled noodles seam-side down in the baking dish. Cover with remaining marinara and top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
