- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Blue food coloring (optional)
- White chocolate chips or candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and a few drops of blue food coloring if desired.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Shape dough into balls and place them on the baking sheet, pressing a white chocolate chip or candy eye onto each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on a wire rack before serving.
Notes
- For authentic Cookie Monster color, add a few drops of blue food coloring to the dough.
- For extra fun, add mini marshmallows or different colored candies.
- Store cooled cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer shelf life.
