- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Optional: hamburger pickles or extra cheese for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a large bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Gently fold in the shredded cheese and crumbled bacon until evenly distributed.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased baking dish or loaf pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- During the last 10 minutes, top with additional cheese and bacon bits if desired for extra flavor.
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
Notes
- For a crispier bacon topping, add extra bacon bits on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
- Use lean ground beef or turkey for a lighter version.
- Ensure bacon is cooked and crumbled before adding to the mixture.
- You can prepare the meatloaf a day in advance and refrigerate before baking.
