Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan evenly.
- In a mixing bowl, toss sliced apples with 1 teaspoon cinnamon and vanilla extract. Set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Set aside.
- Beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and sugar until smooth. Gradually add flour, baking powder, and salt; mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan. Spread apple slices evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle crumb topping generously over apples.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly. Meanwhile, prepare cinnamon glaze by mixing powdered sugar, cinnamon, and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over warm cake before serving.
