- 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup barbecue sauce (preferably smoky flavor)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional for heat)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- Optional toppings: diced red onion, shredded cheese, lime wedges
Instructions
- Season the chicken with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cumin, and chili powder. Marinate in a mixture of half the honey and barbecue sauce for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter, and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the marinated chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until cooked through. Brush with remaining honey and barbecue sauce during the last few minutes for a glossy glaze.
- In a small saucepan, melt the remaining butter over low heat and cook garlic for 1-2 minutes to make garlic butter sauce. Drizzle over the cooked chicken or serve as a dipping sauce.
- Warm tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave. Slice the cooked chicken into thin strips and fill the tortillas.
- Top with cilantro, diced red onion, shredded cheese, or other desired toppings. Squeeze lime juice for added zing before serving.

- For extra smoky flavor, add a dash of smoked paprika or chipotle powder.
- You can substitute chicken thighs for breasts for juicier, more flavorful tacos.
- Adjust the level of chili powder or add jalapeños for more heat.
