Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips (optional for extra richness)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop; let it cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Sift together cocoa powder, salt, and flour. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips if desired for extra gooeyness and chocolate intensity.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For intensely fudgy brownies, underbake slightly and allow cooling to set the center properly.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for the best flavor.
- Optionally add chopped nuts or swirl in peanut butter for a variation.
