- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast in warm milk with a teaspoon of sugar; let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt.
- Add yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients; knead until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and divide into 8-10 equal pieces.
- Shape into rolls and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated overnight before baking.
- Brush with butter immediately after baking for extra flavor.
