Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of peeled, chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)
- Optional: 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts or pecans for added texture
Instructions
- Peel, core, and chop the apples into small pieces. Toss them with a little flour and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add the vegetable oil and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently. Fold in the chopped apples and nuts if using.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top before baking.
- You can substitute different apple varieties for different taste profiles.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
- To freeze, wrap tightly in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months.
