Instructions
- Begin by browning the Italian sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
- Transfer the cooked sausage into the slow cooker. Pour in the marinara sauce, heavy cream, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 2-3 hours.
- During the last 30 minutes, add the tortellini and shredded mozzarella cheese, stirring gently to incorporate. Cover and continue cooking until the tortellini is tender and the cheese is melted.
- Once cooked, garnish with fresh basil or parsley. Serve hot and enjoy a comforting bowl of creamy tortellini and sausage.
