  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until well coated and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, salt, and cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Divide into two parts for the base and topping.
