- 2 cups fresh or frozen pitted cherries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2β3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until well coated and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups flour, salt, and cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Divide into two parts for the base and topping.
- Press one portion of the crumble into a greased 9Γ13-inch baking pan. Spread cherry filling evenly over the crust. Sprinkle the remaining crumble over the top.
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and bubbly. Cool completely.
- Whisk powdered sugar and milk to make glaze. Drizzle over cooled bars. Slice and serve.
Notes
- Can use canned cherries; drain excess liquid.
- Replace butter with dairy-free margarine for dairy-free version.
- Add extra berries or flavorings like almond extract for variation.
