Instructions
- Thaw the puff pastry sheets and roll them out on a floured surface. Cut into 4-inch squares.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly.
- Mix the egg, milk, and vanilla in another bowl and add to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fill the center of each puff pastry square with batter or filling and fold to seal them.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake cruffins for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes and serve with powdered sugar or icing.
