Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- Optional: chocolate chips, for extra gooeyness
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and cocoa powder.
- In a large bowl, combine melted butter and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract and pumpkin puree.
- Gradually fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until combined and a thick batter forms.
- In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth.
- Pour about two-thirds of brownie batter into the prepared pan. Drop spoonfuls of cream cheese mixture over the batter and swirl with a knife to create a marbled effect.
- Add remaining brownie batter on top and gently spread. Optional: sprinkle chocolate chips over the top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add chocolate chips to the brownie batter or cream cheese layer.
- Ensure complete cooling before cutting for clean slices.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.
- For longer storage, freeze wrapped brownies for up to 3 months.
