Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Stir in the mini marshmallows and chopped chocolate, creating a sticky, flavorful dough.
- Divide the dough in half. Roll each portion into a rectangular shape on parchment paper. Swirl melted chocolate into one half of the dough for a marbled effect, then carefully layer them together. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the layered dough into cookies and arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Chill the dough to prevent spreading during baking.
- Be gentle when swirling chocolate to keep the marbled effect attractive.
- Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer chocolate flavor.
- Experiment with different types of chocolate, such as dark or white, for variations.
