- 4 large crisp apples (Fuji, Gala, or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup caramel bits or caramel candies
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips or melting chocolate
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smooth melting)
- Extra toppings: crushed nuts, sprinkles, sea salt (optional)
- To serve: wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
Instructions
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, remove stems, and insert wooden skewers or lollipop sticks into each apple.
- Combine caramel bits with coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl, microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth, stirring after each.
- Dip each apple into the caramel, ensuring full coating, then place on parchment paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Melt the chocolate with coconut oil in 20-30 second bursts until smooth.
- Dip each caramel-coated apple into the melted chocolate or drizzle generously, then add optional toppings before it hardens.
- Refrigerate the dipped apples for at least 1 hour until the chocolate is firm.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; separate layers with parchment paper.
- Freeze for up to 1 month, well-wrapped to prevent freezer burn.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle sea salt or spices on the chocolate coating.
