Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or turkey
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 tablespoons ketchup or tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Additional ketchup or BBQ sauce for glazing (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf shape, approximately 8 inches long and 4 inches wide, and place it on a parchment-lined tray that fits your air fryer basket. Brush the top with additional ketchup or BBQ sauce for added crispiness.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the shaped meatloaf inside the air fryer basket.
- Cook for about 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C), and the top is crispy. Flip halfway through if needed for even cooking.
- Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 160°F for safety and optimal juiciness.
- For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- You can substitute ground turkey for beef for a leaner version.
- Resting the meatloaf helps retain juices for a moist slice.
