Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (preferably 80/20 fat ratio for extra juiciness)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Cheddar, American, or your preferred cheese slices
- Burger buns (sesame seed buns recommended)
- Fresh lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Red onions, sliced
- Pickles or other favorite pickled vegetables
- Mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard for sauces
- Your favorite toppings like crispy bacon, sautéed mushrooms, or avocado slices
Instructions
- Gently combine the ground beef with salt and pepper in a bowl. Do not overmix.
- Divide the beef into approximately 4 oz portions and shape into large round patties.
- Preheat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat.
- Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Top each with a cheese slice during the last minute to melt.
- Lightly toast the burger buns until golden brown.
- Layer ingredients by spreading mayonnaise on the bottom bun, adding lettuce, a beef patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, red onions, pickles, and additional toppings if desired.
- Finish with the top bun and press gently to combine flavors.
Notes
- Use high-quality ground beef for extra flavor and juiciness.
- Customize toppings to suit your preferences, such as adding crispy bacon or sautéed mushrooms.
- Toast the buns to prevent sogginess and add crunch.
