Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup of vegetable oil or melted butter
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 cups of peeled, chopped apples (choose tart or sweet apples based on preference)
- Optional: ½ cup of chopped walnuts or pecans for added crunch
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×4-inch loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt to combine evenly.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, then stir in the oil (or melted butter), vanilla, and chopped apples, ensuring the apple pieces are coated well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Gently fold until just combined. If desired, fold in chopped nuts for extra texture.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for approximately 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature with butter or honey if desired.
Notes
- Use seasonal apples like Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith for varied flavors.
- Add a tablespoon of honey or maple syrup to increase sweetness.
- Sprinkle extra cinnamon or add nutmeg and allspice to enhance the fall aroma.
- Turn this recipe into muffins by dividing the batter into a muffin tin and baking for 20–25 minutes.
