- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 4 cups beef or vegetable broth
- 1 cup uncooked ziti or small pasta
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Grated Parmesan for topping
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in crushed tomatoes, broth, Italian seasoning, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Add uncooked pasta and reduce heat to simmer. Cook until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy.
