- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
- 1 cup Italian sausage (cooked and crumbled)
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup chopped fresh basil or spinach
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- Olive oil for greasing and brushing
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, egg, Parmesan cheese, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly oil a loaf pan or baking sheet. Shape half of the meat mixture into a flat rectangle or oval, about ½ inch thick. Spread half of the marinara sauce over this layer. Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Carefully layer the remaining meat mixture over the cheese, shaping it into a loaf. Spread the rest of the marinara sauce over the top and sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese.
- Place the assembled meatloaf into the oven and bake for about 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). Brush with olive oil during the last 10 minutes for a glazed finish.
- Allow the meatloaf to rest for 10 minutes before slicing to ensure juicy and neat servings.

- You can add fresh chopped herbs like basil or parsley for extra flavor.
- Use lean ground turkey or chicken for a healthier variation.
- Leftovers can be stored airtight in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
