- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) of active dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh basil leaves for garnishing
- Optional toppings (pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives, etc.)
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch round shape.
- Preheat the oven to 475ยฐF (245ยฐC). Spread tomato sauce on the dough, leaving a small edge.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top of the sauce.
- Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
Notes
- If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Use store-bought dough for a quicker option.
- Experiment with different sauces and cheeses for variations.
