Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80% lean for optimal juiciness)
- 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, American, or Swiss)
- 4 burger buns (sesame or brioche)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato slices, pickles, onions
- Condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and brush lightly with olive oil.
- Shape the ground beef into four equally sized patties about 3/4 inch thick. Make a small indentation in each center and season with salt and black pepper.
- Place the patties on the grill and cook for about 4 minutes per side. During the last minute, add a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the cut sides of the buns on the grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each patty with melted cheese on the bottom bun. Top with desired toppings and condiments, then cover with the top bun.
- Serve hot and enjoy your perfectly grilled cheeseburger.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer for a precise internal temperature: 160°F (71°C) for well-done.
- Avoid pressing down on the patties during grilling to retain juices.
- Add Worcestershire sauce or minced garlic to the beef mix for extra flavor.
- Choose high-quality cheese for a richer cheesy flavor.
