Ingredients
Scale
- 1 dozen cinnamon rolls (store-bought or homemade)
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk or heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Optional: cream cheese frosting from cinnamon rolls
- Butter or cooking spray for greasing
- Maple syrup or powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
- Arrange the cinnamon rolls evenly in the prepared baking dish. For a more cohesive casserole, cut larger rolls into smaller pieces before placing.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk or heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until fully combined.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the cinnamon rolls, ensuring all pieces are soaked. Cover with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
- Bake uncovered at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Spread cream cheese frosting over the top while hot if desired.
Notes
- For best results, prepare the casserole the night before and refrigerate overnight for enhanced flavor absorption.
- Use store-bought or homemade cinnamon rolls based on your preference. Thicker rolls may require a slightly longer baking time.
- Top with additional icing or glaze for extra sweetness.
