Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 cup bread crumbs or crushed crackers
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese or cheddar cheese
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground meat, bread crumbs, Parmesan, egg, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well incorporated.
- Divide the meat mixture into small portions, about the size of a golf ball. Flatten each portion into a small disc, place a teaspoon of shredded cheese in the center, then pinch the edges to seal, forming a ball or oval shape.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat. Arrange the meatloaf bites evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and golden brown on top.
- Let the bites rest for a few minutes, garnish with herbs if desired, and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- Ensure the cheese is well sealed inside to prevent leakage during baking.
- You can substitute bread crumbs with crushed crackers, oats, or cooked rice.
- Use a mini muffin tin for smaller bites.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
