- 1 1/2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup baking soda

Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, melted butter, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
- Divide dough into 12 equal pieces, roll each into a ball, and flatten slightly.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Bring 8 cups water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
- Using a slotted spoon, boil pretzel bites in batches for 30 seconds, then remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush pretzels with beaten egg for a shiny finish, sprinkle with coarse salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown, then cool slightly before serving with mustard.
