Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Your choice of toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, etc.
Instructions
- Activate the yeast by mixing warm water with sugar and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt, then create a well in the center. Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the well; gradually incorporate the flour until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Once the dough has risen (about 30 minutes), preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the dough to your desired thickness, transfer it to a pizza peel or baking sheet.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the base, add fresh herbs, and pile on your favorite toppings.
- Top with a generous amount of mozzarella cheese, ensuring it spreads evenly.
- Transfer the prepared pizza to the oven and bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling and the crust is golden brown.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- For longer storage, freeze individual slices wrapped in foil for up to 2 months.
- Reheat in the oven or microwave for a quick meal.
