Instructions
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add brown sugar and cook, stirring constantly until smooth and starting to simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously.
- Slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring vigorously until the mixture is smooth, then cook for another 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and salt if desired.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- Reheat gently to restore smoothness before serving.
- For a vegan version, substitute vegan butter and coconut cream.
