  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked crispy and crumbled
  • ½ cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • Additional maple syrup and bacon for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the all-purpose flour, active dry yeast, and salt in a large bowl. Mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, warm the milk to about 110°F, then whisk in melted butter, sugar, vanilla, bourbon, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry, stirring until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until elastic. Let rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for 1-1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt to prepare the filling. Punch down the dough and roll into a 16×12 inch rectangle.
  5. Spread butter over the dough, sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture, and evenly distribute crumbled bacon.
  6. Roll tightly from the longer side to create a log. Slice into 12 pieces and place in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  7. Preheat oven to 375°F. Let the rolls rise for 30 minutes, then bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Meanwhile, prepare the bourbon maple glaze by mixing powdered sugar, bourbon, and maple syrup.
  8. Once baked, drizzle the glaze over warm rolls. Top with extra maple syrup and bacon bits if desired. Serve warm.
