Ingredients
Scale
- 4 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan with butter or non-stick spray.
- Mash the ripe bananas thoroughly in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas. Whisk until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing gently to avoid over-mixing.
- Fold in chopped walnuts and, if desired, sprinkle additional walnuts on top.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smoothing the surface.
- Bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool completely on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
- Use ripe bananas for the best moist texture.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Freeze slices wrapped in plastic for long-term storage.
