  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block of extra-firm or firm tofu, pressed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for a touch of heat

Instructions

  1. Cut the pressed tofu into approximately 1-inch cubes and marinate with soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Coat each tofu cube in cornstarch, ensuring all sides are covered.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C), line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and arrange the tofu cubes in a single layer.
  4. Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

  • Make sure to press the tofu thoroughly before marinating.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet for even cooking.
  • Flip the tofu halfway through baking to enhance crispiness.
  • Optionally, spray lightly with oil before baking for extra crispiness.
